Ingredients

Scale

For the Salad:

  • 2 cups strawberries, hulled and sliced

  • 1 cup green grapes, halved

  • 1 cup red grapes, halved

  • 2 bananas, sliced

  • 1 cup blueberries

  • 1 cup pineapple chunks (fresh or well-drained if canned)

  • 1 cup mandarin oranges (drained if canned)

  • 1 apple, chopped (toss in lemon juice to prevent browning)

For the Creamy Dressing:

  • 1 cup sour cream (or plain Greek yogurt for a lighter option)

  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Zest of 1 orange (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep the Fruit:
Wash all fruit thoroughly. Hull and slice strawberries, halve grapes, slice bananas, chop apples, and drain canned fruits if used. Toss apples and bananas in a little lemon juice to prevent browning.

  2. Make the Dressing:
In a small bowl, whisk together sour cream, honey (or maple syrup), vanilla extract, and orange zest until smooth and creamy.

  3. Combine the Salad:
Place all prepared fruit in a large mixing bowl. Pour the creamy dressing over the fruit and gently fold using a spatula until everything is evenly coated. Be careful not to mash the fruit.

  4. Chill and Serve:
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to meld and the dressing to thicken slightly.

Notes

  1. Substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream for a healthier, protein-rich version.
  2. Mini marshmallows or shredded coconut can be added for extra texture and sweetness.
  3. Best served within 24 hours for freshness.
  4. Add apples and bananas just before serving to maintain their color and texture.
