A naturally sweet, hydrating summer drink made with fresh strawberries, ripe mangoes, lemon juice, and homemade lemon peel syrup.

Ingredients

Scale

Simple Syrup:

1¼ cups white sugar

1¼ cups water

Peel from 2 lemons

Lemonade:

1 cup fresh strawberries

2 ripe mangoes, diced

1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (from 68 lemons)

2¼ cups cold water (reserve ¼ cup for blending)

Prepared simple syrup

Ice cubes to serve

Instructions

1. In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, and lemon peel. Warm until sugar dissolves, then steep 15–20 minutes. Strain and let cool.

2. Rinse strawberries and prepare mangoes. Dice fruit and blend with ¼ cup cold water until smooth. Strain for a smoother texture.

3. Juice the lemons and strain to remove seeds. You’ll need about 1 cup of juice.

4. In a pitcher, mix fruit purée, lemon juice, remaining water, and cooled syrup. Stir well to combine.

5. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow flavors to meld.

6. Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices, mango chunks, or strawberries if desired.

Notes

  • Refrigerate leftovers for up to 3 days.
  • Freeze extra lemonade into ice cubes to avoid dilution when serving.
  • Use Ataulfo or Kent mangoes for smooth texture and flavor.
